It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news that founding member Fikile Sidumo passed away last night due to heart failure.

Fikile has been a mainstay on the Choir since its inception; and her distinct voice was second to none.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Sidumo and Soweto Gospel Choir family.  I know it is a difficult time.

Below is a video that featured Fikile from several years back–it beautifully captures her spirit.

Thank you Fikile for sharing your gifts with the world–your voice will not be your only legacy.  You will be missed.

The Soweto Gospel Choir performed earlier today at Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s book launch in Cape Town.

According to reports; Tutu danced along as the Choir performed!  Also in attendance at the event was Bono.

After the last show with Andre Rieu in Holland; the entire cast/crew gathered for a dinner/after party where members of the Choir performed.
