Bongani Mabaso

Bongani Mabaso was born in Ladysmith, Kwa Zulu Natal and grew up singing in the local church and school choirs.

After his schooling, he moved to Johannesburg where he met many jazz legends,
including Sophie Mcgina, Dolly Rathebe and Mara Louw at Dorkay House; he performed there with the Junior Manhattan Brothers.

Bongani had the honor of performing for President Thabo Mbeki at Gallagher Estate. Bongani performed with Johnny Clegg in Portugal and the U.K. and has backed many gospel stars.

Bongani got the opportunity to take part in the South African movie production Drum, starring Taye Diggs and other American stars.
