FROM taxi drivers, fireman, policemen, aircraft engineers, customer service staff, to company executives they all dug into their pockets for a lunch for African stars, Soweto Gospel Choir, according to Airport and Customer Service manager for the Nausori and Nadi airports, Joe Grey.
Their kindness was reciprocated in words choir member Bongani Ncube told The Fiji Times there was nothing quite like the Fijian hospitality
This trip by the choir is the second visit for Mr Ncube and he said the group would never tire of performing in Fiji.
“The people here are so hospitable and welcoming to the point it feels like we’re returning home after a long time away, not to mention the weather and the food reminds me of home,’ Mr Ncube said with a smile.
“Fiji’s crowds are also always the most responsive and they know almost every song we perform,” he said.
He and fellow choir members were hosted to lunch by the staff of Nausori Airport yesterday.
Mr Grey, said all at AFL Nausori contributed to organising the occasion.
“It’s been a wonderful team-building exercise for everyone involved,” he said.
The group is looking forward to today’s show at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
