A local primary school choir has been chosen to sing a song alongside the Soweto Gospel Choir when they tour Fiji next month.
Tour Organiser Atelaite Cama told FBC News – the Choir has requested that a local choir sing with them and following auditions – a choir – consisting of 22 students of Veiuto Primary School was chosen.
Speaking during the signing of a media agreement with the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation this morning – Cama says the students are currently learning the song they will sing with the Choir.
Cama says two shows will be held in Fiji – the first at the Denarau Events Centre at the Sheraton Fiji Resort on Wednesday 6th July with the second show to be held at the Vodafone Arena on Saturday 9th of July.
“The ticket prices – for Denarau because we are targeting tourists – we are putting ticket price at about $120. From the 30th June to the 31st of July is the absolute peak season for tourism. That’s why the ticket prices are very high. Local are also welcome to purchase at Post Offices in Nadi Airport and Nadi Town and also Air Pacific offices in Nadi. The Suva show is for the local population and that’s $25 per ticket.”
The Soweto Gospel Choir last came to Fiji in 2008 – during their ‘African Spirit’ world tour.
