2:05pmET: Hugh Masekela takes to the stage and is joined by Lira for a resounding version of the Makeba classic Pata Pata.

2:10pmET: SA President and FIFA President on stage.

2:15pmET: Black Eyed Peas on stage now.  Where is the Love? segue into Pump It. It’s like one big BEP Mashup…now it’s Meet Me Halfway.  Boom Boom Pow!

2:26pmET: Looks like BEP is wrapping up their set with their classic I’ve Got a Feeling. Entire stage and crowd jumping!!  Great energy!

2:30pmET: Mali duo Amadou & Mariam is on stage now…they are known as “the blind couple from Mali”.  Welcome to Mali!

2:38pmET: Former Bafana Bafana player and host Lucas Radebe is on stage now with two cute little kids in yellow and red kits.  He’s talking way too much…I think he’s killing time as they reset the stage???

2:43pmET: SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR is on stage now!  With Angelique Kidjo singing the classic Malaika. Sound is a bit off; can’t really hear the Choir singing even though you see them singing on stage….

2:45pmET: Singing Afrikia (Prayer for South Africa) now with Angelique.

2:49pmET: John Legend comes on stage to join Angelique…the Choir is now offstage.

2:52pmET: John Legend is on the piano now with Wake Up Everybody, and according to the title, the Choir will join him…they are not on the stage yet.  The Choir joins him on the catwalk/platform area above the stage…

2:57pmET: John continues singing Green Light…Choir is off stage.

3:01pmET: One Goal Campaign video.  2 Girls, 2 Lives. Totally rings home the message behind the campaign…

3:04pmET: Vusi Mahlasela on stage with Say Africa. Love this guy!  When You Come Back now…I love the way he “storytells” in his music!!

3:12pmET: Vusi and Angelique are on stage together now–two of Africa’s greatest!

3:14pmET: Archbishop Desmond Tutu now on stage; completely decked out with Bafana Bafana gear!!!  I wonder what team he is supporting??

3:20pmET: How excited was Tutu?  His joy is contagious!  Now, a video tribute to Madiba.

3:23pmET: Vieux Farka Touré, from Mali is on stage now.

3:30pmET: Juanes, Colombian rocker is on stage with La Camisa NegraTaboo from BEP joins Juanes on stage.  Now singing Yerbatero.

3:44pmET: Tinariwen, from Northern Mali (Sahara) are on stage now.  Lots of Malian musicians!

3:54pmET: Alicia Keys takes the stage with You Don’t Know My Name and a bunch of her other songs…

4:09pmET: BLK JKS joins Alicia on stage…not liking that it’s been an hour since the Choir has been on stage!!! lol

4:19pmET: K’naan, Somalian via Canada with Waving Flag.  will.i.am joins him on stage, waving the Brazilian flag.

4:33pmET: The Parlotones take the stage.

4:38pmET: Shakira takes the stage now…building towards the finale.

4:52pmET: Waka Waka time now…freshly grounded and Mzansi Youth Choir joining Shakira on stage.

4:58-mET: Finale time…World Cup trophy on stage.

5:06pmET: And, we’re drawing to a close with the finale.  Everyday People with everyone on stage.

    I watched the video on the opening events of the World Cup. I think the Soweto Gospel Choir is awesome and rocks.
